Curtis is born to Carmencita Ojales from Bolinao Pangasinan in Australia as well as James Ernest Curtis Smith an Australian lawyer born on the 25th of July 1970, at Yarrawonga. Her father, James Ernest Curtis-Smith got married to Ojales in 1982. The younger sister Jasmine has also become an actress. The father of the couple had a half sister known as Clare, who passed away in 2007 aged 4 months of cardiovascular disease.
